Lovely Dinner

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Raffles Grill. Including the complimentary snack and starter, had a total of 8 courses. First to arrive is cold asparagus soup in a small cup and a puff with salmon cream. Not too fond of asparagus but like the salmon puff.

Next is fried scallop and cannelloni with mushroom. The scallop is fresh and sweet and the mushroom full of flavour. The olive bread from the bread basket is also very tasty.

Caviar and salmon on blinis.
Oysters with wild mushroom. Never like cook oysters and these actually taste quite nice. Surprise to taste something like the black fungus in Chinese dishes(雲耳) in it but the whole dish is very nice and finished all the rich and creamy sauce with bread.

Black truffle with scallops. Truffle has such a delicate taste would probably not be able to tell if didn't see such a big slices of it.
Foie Gras with beef cheek. Yummy...
The dessert is nice but slight too sweet for me.

It is definitely one of the most delicious and memorable meals I had. Another good this is that I can taste all the dishes and had someone else to help me finish all of them!

Shanghai

Always ate a lot when in Shanghai. Tried a nice Japanese Tepanyaki restaurant, their lunch set is only about $50.

Can't resist Foie Gras and tried their specialty - Foie Gras with Seaweed sauce. Very interesting combination and surprisingly nice.
Though it's a bit late for hairy crab but they are still quite good. Of course they are from the all time favorite 王寶和.

Not to be missed is the dumplings in Yu Yuen(豫園). Must go to the 3rd floor of the shop(南翔饅頭店) where the minimum charge is $60 per person. Tried all three floors and confirmed that not only the environment and service are different, the food is different too. Of course the price are different. Never bothered to line up at the counter on the ground floor though but the look of the dumpling is really like 饅頭 instead of 小籠包.

Wanted to go to Visage for some time and finally made it. Well, the place is very nice, the cake and hot chocolate looks nice, and it's trendy place to sit and chat. Just the cake is a bit too sweet and the hot chocolate not rich enough...

Soup - 住家菜

A friend recommended the place and call it her "family canteen". Tried a nice place for Chinese food. Perfect for soup and feel like "home style cooking" food.

Big bowls of "daily soup" at only $10 each!
Stir-fried zucchini(翠玉瓜) and fish fillet.
Sweet and Sour pork chop (京都肉排)

All the dishes are quite small, so could order a few dishes even when there's only two person, which is perfect for those don't eat much but like Chinese food.

Cakes-L'atelier by Joel Robuchon

Chocolate tart with passion fruit
Caramel tart

Love cakes but don't like they too sweet. These two are just the right. Another good thing about them is they are of the right size - just enough to satisfy the craving for cakes but won't feel full or guilty after eating them.

Miso, Gateway

Had a quick dinner at Miso in TST. Didn't expect much but the food turned out to be quite delicious. Vegetable Tempura
Inaniwa Udon with beef - very yummy.
Assorted Sushi-fresh and delicious
